Christmas dinner with my father was a delicious affair. For the second year in a row, I picked up a whole beef tenderloin from Acme Meat Market so I could prepare a beef wellington. Deciding to use the amazing, real butter puff pastry from Superstore, made this step-heavy dish surprisingly easy to make. With all of my food preparation done ahead of time, all I needed to do was put it in the oven for 40 minutes after arriving at my fathers. I served it with a fresh rustic loaf of bread and a cranberry-feta-walnut salad. For dessert, I kept with the puff pastry theme and made a golden delicious galette.
Not your average turkey filled meal, but I can see this tradition lasting for at least a few more years.
