Still Out of Office – But Getting There

December 13, 2011 2 comments

Hey Everyone.

I hope you are all doing well. As I sit to write this, I can’t believe it’s already December. Not even the beginning, the middle! The end of the year, and the holiday season for that matter, has snuck up on me quicker than Santa’s sleigh. Maybe it’s the lack of Christmas decorations where I’m staying. I think I should probably change that at some point soon. Then again it’ll probably be too late by the time I finish and I’ll just be taking them down. Maybe I can swing by your place for some holiday cheer?

Speaking of homes though, I’ve settled myself into a place with an old friend. This, for the time being, means I have a place to lay my head. As well as feed my starters, make that starter (lost one in the transition), strum my guitars, set up my computer and so forth. And if there is one good thing about relocation, it’s the inspiration provided from my cookbooks which are climbing the walls around my bed.

So where does this leave me you ask?  To be completely honest, it means I’m in a pretty constant state of flux still. Which in turn means that the blog suffers from my random days and current Moksha Yoga kick (50 classes in 49 days!). On the flip side, it also means that life is on the mend. Whoa, I wrote “means” a lot there didn’t I. And it just so happens that the changes I’m undergoing are full of ideas, some of which I’m working very diligently on for the new year. I don’t know if I’ve felt this excited by something food related in a long time. It’s gonna be awesome and I can’t wait to share it with you.

Here’s to a safe and warm festive season. Hopefully we can share a glass of nog, or even just a twitter handshake.

Warm regards,
Chris

Out Of Office – Date To Be Determined

October 27, 2011 Comments off

Dearest Friends, Neighbours, and Unicorns,

Things have been pretty quiet around these parts as of late, so I wanted to pop in and give you a heads up about life and the blog. Instead of delivering you post after post with “I’m sorry things are so busy….”, I thought it would be easier to let you know I’m going to take a break. I thought I could manage the transition but it appears as if I need an established break to feel excited about writing again. I do hope that it won’t be for long, as I’ve really enjoyed this being part of my daily life, but one can never know. As any busy person can attest, once something that starts as a hobby takes on a life of its own, things can get a bit hairy. Which, in times like these, isn’t always a good thing. I want to be able to log into my computer and not feel bad for my lack of posts, picture editing, comment responses, food research and so forth. Instead, I hope to surround myself with my amazing, heart warming friends, tight, loving family, music, and food…without thinking about how I’m going to describe it once I find a keyboard. Taking a break is really the last thing I wanted to do, but as I look for a new home and a new kitchen, I want to focus on my life. So;

I am currently out of the office.

I should probably say that I’ll have limited access to things food related, but really that’s not true. I’ll still be packing my camera, eating with friends, sipping coffee, tweeting photos, and making mental notes.

That said, I’m going to leave the decision in your hands:

  • If you want to chat about food, a new restaurant, or get together for a meal or coffee, you can still pass along an email to me – eatingisthehardpart(at)gmail(dot)com -  and I’ll try to respond to it promptly.
  • If you want to see where I’ve been spending my time, a quick visit to my 365 Photo Blog would be a good start. I forewarn you though, it won’t just be food.
  • Of course you can still follow the Facebook fan page, which I’ll keep updated with adventures.

Otherwise, I’ll respond when I return…

Warm regards,
Chris
