As my weekly adventures to see Todd at Old Country Meat & Deli continue, I’m happy to say that my list of purchases and dishes continues to grow. I did an update of sorts back in May, and figured that as we enter mid-July, I would once again give a run down of some recent tasty treats.
I should say that like any store or restaurant, some items appeal to me more than others. The chicken pot pie, which Todd says is a big seller, could in my opinion, use a bit of a kick. The English bacon is quite lean, being boneless pork loin and all, and doesn’t come close to the flavour explosion that is Todd’s double smoked apple wood bacon. Once again though, different strokes for different folks. With so many items available, it’s great to see Todd still having the time to play with a few charcuterie items. Next time you stop in, maybe just inquire to see what is new and you might be surprised.
