Sometimes it’s the little things. Like going out with friends and slowly easing the troubled times with some fish. In this case, a stop at the downtown location of Kyoto today for King Crab, Baby Octopus, Uni, and Ikura. Delicious as it was (my first time at this location), it was the company and conversation I was really there for.

* I should say that service was pretty spotty during out time there and we were not allowed in with our Transcend coffee’s; so we sat outside for a while before being allowed in.

  1. This is one of my family’s favourite places now. I love their tempura vegetables. Last time we were there, my oldest daughter tried the chirashi and says it was amazing. I’m not quite brave enough for it, but it was a truly beautiful dish.

The service has been touch and go for us. Some visits have had excellent service, others… not so much. My husband’s office has lunches there every now and then, and he’s found that for parties of 5 or more, which get seated in the small rooms, the service is much better than when seated at the regular tables.
