If you’ve followed me over the years, you know that I have a soft spot for Anthony Bourdain. From his sassy attitude to sexual innuendos to his love of good food. I have a lot of time for Tony. The downside is that after all these years, the occasional monologue can be a little boring. Thankfully No Reservations came to an end and CNN picked up Tony for Parts Unknown. Now deep into it’s second season, the recent Tokyo episode was worth it’s weight in gold. You should do what you can to pour yourself a stiff drink, put your feet up and prepare yourself for a surprising look at Tokyo.
Bourdain on going to Tokyo for the first time: “I often compare the experience of going to Japan for the first time, going to Tokyo for the first time to what Eric Clapton and Pete Townsend — the reigning guitar gods of England at the time — must have gone through the week that Jimi Hendrix came to town.“
