The beer fairy at Molson Coors dropped off more beer recently. In case you don’t know, Belgian Moon is actually Blue Moon, the number one selling wheat beer in the United States. Since launching in 1995, Blue Moon has enjoyed huge growth in the US and garnered a number of awards, including being a World Beer Championship gold medalist in its first year of existence.
Wheat beers, which if you haven’t guessed, are brewed with a large proportion of wheat relative to the amount of malted barley. Along with porters and dark ales, wheat beers likely fill out my trifecta of beer preferences. This unfiltered, 5.4% wheat ale has a zesty citrus aroma that continues through to the palate along with a touch of coriander. It is almost sweet to the taste and is thick enough to hang around in your mouth for a few moments of pure enjoyment.
Belgian Moon has been available for a while now, so if you haven’t had a chance to enjoy a pint, then I suggest adding one to your next adventure.
