On the recommendation of a friend, I checked out Whitehall this week while in Calgary. Minus the dessert, which was overwhelmed with pine flavour, the meal was fantastic. Whether it came down to being in a different city, having no expectations, or just tired after a long day, I can honestly say it has been some time since I’ve felt this good after a tasting menu ($80). It certainly didn’t hurt that the space is beautiful, the service was friendly without hovering, and the music was on point. Hearing that the tasting menu hasn’t changed for months (potentially since they opened), would be the only thing that stops me from rushing back on my next trip to Calgary. After all, we should all be open to new experiences and new options.
