Cactus Club – Menu Tasting

I was lucky enough to be invited to check out a few new/potentially upcoming items at Cactus Club last night. Th group was served five dishes, all of which were well prepared and tasty in their own right. However, two dishes were worth extra mention in my opinion; Modern Bowl and Port Wine Salmon.

The Modern Bowl – grilled avocado, tabbouleh, pineapple salsa, roasted cauliflower and broccoli, jasmine rice, and miso carrot ginger sauce. Really it was a dish that was exciting and full of so many flavours that you could easily have this every day without getting bored.

The Port Wine Salmon – ocean wise lois lake steehead, du put lentils, port wine, bacon, daikon and carrot salad. The plate was rich and filing without being heavy, and to me at least, had  huge comfort food vibe. So good.
