The internet describes Little Serow as “Intimate & dark, this cavelike spot serves an innovative set menu of Northern-Thailand specialties.” Sounds pretty enticing doesn’t it!
Little Serow describes themselves as a restaurant serving a set, family-style dinner of northern and northeastern Thai dishes for $49 per person. Dinner is spicy and almost always includes pork, seafood and nuts. Unfortunately, changes to the meal are not possible and they update the menu each week on Tuesday afternoon. Set menus. Rotating menus. No substitutions. Sign me up!
All of these things added up to a very memorable meal in DC. The star for me was the lasp gai chian mai (chicken, chicken offal, lanna spices). The crispy chicken with a touch of that minerally offal flavour was fan-freaking-tastic.
